Evita Arce, a reknown Lindy Hop dancer & teacher, has dedicated her 20 year career to the art of social dance from the American Swing era.  Evita danced the lead role in “SWING!” at the Sacramento Music Circus, the Pittsburg Civic Light Opera, and the 2008 Japan tour of the Broadway production.  She has demonstrated Lindy Hop at the Kennedy Center for “Let Freedom Swing” with Jazz at Lincoln Center, performed “Swing is the Thing” with several Philharmonic orchestras and advanced to finals in Las Vegas on the TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance”.  Evita’s swing dance company, co-directed with Michael Jagger, performed on the Inside/Out Stage at Jacob’s Pillow in 2012-2013.  Evita was featured in the 2016 documentary film “Alive and Kicking” which celebrates and showcases the modern Lindy Hop community.  She is a protégé of Ryan Francois, who was a pupil and close friend of Frankie Manning.  Other dance training comes from the Vanaver Caravan (percussive and world dance), 10 years of dancing with Roy Lozano’s Ballet Folklorico in Austin, TX,  and multiple ballroom and social dance styles from 10 years of being on staff at Dance Manhattan.  Evita currently teaches Lindy Hop all over the world, performs with Caleb Teicher and Company, runs an online dance school called “Syncopated City” with Michael Jagger, and enjoys collaborating with her dearest New York City friends in Wild Rhythm.
